The word “against” jumped off of the page at me. The word against in this context means “in preparation for.”
In this scripture, Moses was preparing the Israelites by prompting them to decide to come into a covenant relationship with God so that the may be preserved. He urged them to choose NOW!
Today, many are worshipping the Lord in spirit but NOT in truth. They have a form of godliness, but do not know what it is to live in the fullness of who
He is. They have been a slave to the system so long they do not even understand what freedom is.
There are those currently living in the euphoria of “church” and are not being empowered. Something is missing but they cannot quite figure it out. Why do I feel this void? There must be more than this, right?

In the movie The Matrix, Morpheus offered Neo the opportunity to learn the TRUTH. To do something that looked and sounded crazy to the natural eye. Because he was already feeling like there was more to life than the the redundancy he was stuck in, he was yearning for something different. He had a choice between the blue pill (illusion) and the red pill (reality).
He chose between life and death. He wanted to escape the bondage he felt deep inside.
